The Channels Worth Subscribing To
According to a recent investigation by Brit streetwear brand Superdry, American Twitch streamer Ninja is the most searched streamer globally, claiming Google’s top spot in 46 countries. With 17.4 million subscribers on the platform, he’s also Twitch’s top earning streaming star. Even though he’s not racking up the live viewership numbers he used to back in 2018, if you’re looking to level up your Fortnite skills, Ninja is still your man. You probably know this already, seeing as how Fortnite is the most searched game in South Africa.
Second to Ninja when it comes to Google searches for streamers with a total of 36 countries, is the UK’s TommyInnit – a YouTube and Twitch superstar. He’s got 10 million YouTube subscribers and a not-too-shabby 6.7 million subscribers on Twitch.
When it comes to playing Minecraft, there’s no one finer. Last year, the now 22-year old was awarded two Guinness World Records – one for having the Twitch channel with the most Minecraft followers, the other for having the highest number of viewers of a Twitch Minecraft livestream gameplay.
Despite the cliches, gaming isn’t a total sausage fest (anymore). In fact, women make up 35% of the Twitch streamer base. With 8.9 million followers on Twitch and 8.3 YouTube subscribers, Pokimone is the fourth most-searched streamer globally, taking the top spot in 12 countries. The so-far undisputed Queen of Twitch is best known for her League of Legends and Fortnite streams.
Over on YouTube, Valkyrae leads the charge for the platform’s top female streamers with nearly 4 million subscribers to her channels. She’s reigned supreme as YouTube’s most-watched female streamer since 2020 thanks to her skills in Among Us.
